Otter Trust's Gambia trip for conservation work
|
Otter Trust's Gambia trip "humbling" as members take part in conservation work. Members of the Otter Trust have praised their wonderful hosts after returning from a conservation trip to Gambia. During the trip, the pair, who carry out most of their work at Dickleburgh Moor Nature Reserve, looked for new areas of riverside wetlands that could be used for future projects, while gathering data on numerous riverside species.

Passing of Our Chairman Sir Edward Evans-Lombe
It's with great sadness that we report the passing of the chairman of our trust, Sir Edward Evans-Lombe (Hon Sir Edward Christopher Evans-Lombe). For over two decades Edward had enthusiastically championed the conservation of wetlands and wetland species through his association with The Otter Trust. Edward had a particular fondness for waterfowl and waders, being thrilled by our success with Lapwings at Dickleburgh Moor. He eagerly awaited his updates from The Otter Trust, Earsham Wetland Centre, Dickleburgh Moor Nature Reserve and Waveney Suffolks, always having a list of questions and words of support. Our condolences go to his family, he was a delightful fellow and dear friend to us all.

NEW Otter Spotter UK appThe Otter Trust thanks you for helping us to map the distribution of Eurasian otters, American mink and Water volves in the UK.
Why have we launched the Otter Spotter UK app? Although we are told that otters are doing well in the UK, we also know that otter cubs are still being brought to rescue centres on a regular basis in some parts of England. |
