Schools
The Otter Trust believes that engaging children and young people is the key to a more sustainable and wildlife friendly future. Research shows that if children become actively engaged with the natural world at an early age they develop a lifelong connection with it. Furthermore, active outdoor play and learning is vital for the development of a child’s self-esteem, wellbeing, attention span, cognitive and spatial reasoning, team work and physical development and provides a balm from the erosive effects of technological overload. The Otter Trust aims to provide child friendly activities on our sites, involve children with our citizen science projects and provide wildlife conservation and environmental sustainability based resources across the key stages.
